Probably my biggest challenge yet on this nomadic adventure is living only with the items I can pack in my bag (so far I’ve been travelling with a Doubletrack 25 by The North Face). Everytime I try to cut down on the stuff that I carry, my head starts to spin with endless what-if scenarios. Since this part of my trip is about coming back and enjoying time with my family, I have not thought seriously about what I’m packing and being practical; but as my return to Europe approaches I’m starting to reconsider.
It’s now 12:57 AM and I should be leaving at 7:00 AM to the airport. When I travel and tell people that I didn’t get any sleep the night before, they usually assume I was out dancing and drinking all night; and even if I usually do look kind of hangovered in the morning, the truth is that when it comes to packing I’m probably the absolute worst procrastinator. If there were awards for this bad habit, I would be the undefeated champion. I mean I should be packing NOW, but here I am typing away…
One Hour Later
OK, I’m almost done :) I’ll try to get some sleep now, and will wake up in about five hours to finish the rest. Guess, I won’t be looking so bad tomorrow morning.
